North Tyneside Music Education Hub (NTMEH) is delighted to announce their production of Disney’s Aladdin Jnr which will be at Whitley Bay Playhouse on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July 2020.
The spectacular 60-minute musical is based on the 1992 Disney film and the 2014 Broadway adaptation, and features music by Alan Menken. Disney’s Aladdin Jnr is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
The show calls for a large cast of singers, actors and dancers, and NTMEH are now looking for any young people aged between 11-18 who live in North Tyneside and would be interested in taking part.
Aladdin Jnr will be staged as part of a double bill, with 10 local North Tyneside primary schools already signed up to perform the schools’ version of the hit show Matilda in the first half of the production on both nights.
Auditions for anyone interested in taking part in Aladdin Jnr will be on Monday 24th February and Monday 2nd March between 7-9pm at John Spence High School. The cast will then rehearse weekly on a Monday evening, leading up to the performances in the summer.
NTMEH are also keen to hear from any young people who would like to assist with the technical side of the show. Taking part in the production is entirely free of charge.
