High Praise for the Young Performers who Entertained at the Gala Day

We had an excellent concert at the Sage Gateshead on Monday 2nd July

Sage 1

One of the biggest events of the year, the North East Music Education Hubs formed together to put on a one-off concert to celebrate youth music as part of the Great Exhibition of the North. North Tyneside Music Hub partnered up with Music Partnership North (Newcastle Hub) to create a joint choir and joint orchestra filled with talented children and young people.

Sage 2

The wonderful Whitehouse Primary School Choir started us off followed by the joint Newcastle / North Tyneside choir who performed some well-known pieces.  The orchestra then took their turn, performing some Musical Theatre and Classical pieces.

Sage 3

Our big finale was two pieces performed by both the joint orchestra and the joint choir. The young musicians performed O Fortuna by Carmina Burana and Zadok the Priest by Handel. The applause at the end of the pieces was rapturous; all the young people had big smiles as they came off and were all thrilled at the experience of playing on the main stage of the Sage Gateshead. We've had fantastic feedback from both performers and audience members alike and we hope this experience was unforgettable for all.
